The entrance to Las Gaviotas, Baja Mexico. Las Gaviotas is a popular weekend getaway spot for the Southern Californian surfing community. It is like it's own vacation resort. There is a pool and hot tub on site, a fresh fish market in the morning after the local catch, as well as some great surf!

Seth and Jon checking out the surf along the boardwalk. This seaside sidewalk stretches to both ends of the resort.

The view from our condo balcony. My brother, Shane, setting up the boards for the night. To check the surf out from the house, we hop up on the railing and hold on to the roof for a great view of the waves.

This is a picture of our last night out in Mexico. We traveled up north a few miles to this restaurant, Los Pelicanos. The margaritas were too good! From left to right - Jon, Me, Shane, Tammy (Shane's wife), Brian, Seth, Alana, and Eric. Everyone on the right are either friends, coworkers, both, etc. of Shane and Tammy. It was a great time watching everyone catch some nice waves!

Tonight we checked out a Padres/Dodgers game in downtown San Diego! L.A. won the game, but it was still fun. My brother got us nice seats in the first row behind the dugouts and first base! Jon wasn't paying attention and almost got hit by a promotional ball, the guy behind us reached around and stole it!

My brother, Shane, was nice enough to loan us his truck to store the surfboards overnight. He also stopped by for a few games of horseshoes on Monday night.

Since we don't take our digital cameras to the beach for surfing pics (sand and cameras don't mix), those will have to be added later after we develop the underwater camera film, here is a pic before we went out surfing Tuesday afternoon. Jon is catching some waves and getting the hang of things. I've caught some great waves as well, having a lot of fun! We have now surfed the last six days, and we can tell we aren't 19 anymore! We're taking some pain medication and some of our joints are getting sore! This sucks! :)

Mission Bay, San Diego. We stopped by here to pick up our surfboards for the trip. Jon has a 10'2" longboard, and I have a 9'2" longboard. The weather has consistently been around 74 degrees, sunny, with a slight breeze. Perfect!

Saturday night we took in some live music at an O.A.R. concert at San Diego State University. The open air stage was great and the music was as well.

Vegas Baby!

Jon and I made it from Denver to Las Vegas in 11 hours, arriving around 4:30 pm. We stayed at the wonderful Motel 6, but elected to sleep on our sleeping bags instead of using the sheets. Friday morning we got up and were on the road early. We pulled up to my brother and sister-in-law's house in Carlsbad shortly after 1:00 pm and were in the water surfing by 2:30!
